photo test message

edit: still can't post pictures into a message? comes in as attached thumbnail of a significantly reduced size.

I also see the weird yellow light fade on each message on multiple monitors...not sure it's a monitor problem.

Yeah, that isn't an error. I don't know why they took away the default white background and just left us with this mess, but that's the only choice at the moment. Unless you want it to look like the mobile site and lose some functionality - I've actually considered that.

I'd like to reiterate this.
And when I said bottom of the page, I mean between the last post & quick-reply box where they were previously.
It's a natural place for a quick link back to the forum index that requires no further scrolling, and I basically use it every singe time.

It's also much easier on mobile devices to hit that instead of thumbing all the way to the bottom of the page and trying to hit that tiny link in the extreme corner.

Check the the forum jump pull down box on the lower right. That should do what you want.

drop menus are even more horrible on mobile devices. And on regular computer require mutliple clicks and movement of the mouse.
also, have you SEEN that list of forums in the drop menu?

Besides, when you finish reading the last post in a thread, or when you've just posted and the page auto-loads t display your post right front and center, the breadcrumbs are right there where your mouse pointer already most likely is.
Maybe I'm lame, but it's a long way down to the bottom right corner.

I've been informed that the vB3 software (the latest iteration of the site) does not support the desktop view on Android, so the drop downs will not be working.

I use the desktop format on my android device (Moto X Play XT1563, Version 6.0.1) and drop down menus work for me?

It may have intermittent success, but it is not designed to work with it. My mistake on the specification.

You could look around a tiny bit -- and please stop making new tech report threads where there is already one for this update.

In answer to your specific question, NEW POSTS is a link dead center at the top of the page in the blue menu bar.

Not sure if this has been posted or not, but I used to be able to do Ctrl-B, Ctrl-U and Ctrl-I to place Bold, Underline, or Italics tags with the cursor in between. Doesn't appear to be working now.

if you go to your usercp and edit options, you can select an enhanced text editor which will allow you to do wysiwyg editing.

Ahh thanks.

Another thing, links in threads to specific posts within the thread don't seem to be working, such as the links in the first post of this thread. They all just open a new tab and show the first post again:

I don't know - in the past the Quick Reply box had Font and Color options along the top, and I think if I hit Quote on a post, a Quick Reply box would appear right below that post. Over in the Commuting Mileage thread, we usually post the text with Courier New font to keep everything aligned. I tried all the different text editor options, and all of them just showed a standard font with FONT tags, COLOR tags, etc. all showing. It wasn't WYSIWYG, even on the two enhanced options.

Try hitting Quote below this last post to see what happens. It used to Quote the text but display it in the correct Courier New font.

Yuck, both "Enhanced Interfaces" are not WYSIWIG at all. With the WYSIWIG interface, if I select text and specify a font, it doesn't actually change the font. It just wraps "TEXT" tags around the selected text. That's going to make it difficult to keep numbers lined up in that Commuting Mileage thread. In the CKEditor interface, there's not even an option to change text font.

So as it stands all the text editor interfaces are less functional than what we had before.
