Or-when we have you on tape
bouncing a rider off your hood-his loud scream-
and you casually drive off
we will prosecute you-squeeze you to get a conviction
because it would make us look terrible if we didn't.
Crime wise-a no injury assault-very small potatoes relative to big city violent crime
The Feds are hoping he will roll over
Hmmm-a lawyer-but so drunk he made up the lame "someone threw a bike at me" laughable lie.
Instead of just shutting his mouth-like all experienced criminals do on TV(but apparently don't do in real life)

Compromise; send him to Florida and make him spend a week on the beach.

Feds must be squeezing him pretty hard.
They Feds have little motivation to go easy on him.
On tape-tried to conceal remove the decals on his SUV.
His own son ratted him out-meaning he is a real piece of work.
If he was really $$-he would be buying off the rider-assuming the rider is buyable.
The tape-huge problem-Feds don't really need much of a witness with THAT.
Something to be said for those cameras.

In my book the driver of that car should at least be charged with attempted murder.

I found a local article dated Sep 7. Mostly about the area bicyclists, but it did mention that he's in federal court and still facing charges. So it sounds like the trial hasn't started yet. Since it mentioned potential penalties if he's convicted, it sounds like there's been no plea offer.

The last *published* information was that the federal trial was scheduled to begin October 3.

The radio silence might mean that the trial was postponed.
It might mean that the trial is still going on.

But since this is A&S it surely must mean that there is a vast conspiracy where the defendant paid off the witnesses and everything has been hushed up.

In more pleasant news, Tyler Noe has a new bicycle.

From the linked article...."Natchez Trace hit-and-run victim gets new racing bike, donated by strangers."

That right there renews my faith in humanity.

Donated by strangers, or a new bike as part of the 'pay-off' to hush this thing down to nothing.
What happened?

I'm certain their spouses were put at ease by this "safety" decision.

The day I feel the need to run a video camera during my leisure activity to assist law enforcement in capturing the person/persons who killed me is the day I stop engaging in that activity all together. Nothing I do for recreation is worth dying for or going through the rest of my life disabled in some way. This is why I gave up street bikes (motorcycles) when I hit 30 years of age and my brain finally matured. Just not worth the risk vs. the enjoyment I got out of it.

I guess the loved ones left behind could monetize the videos on YouTube to help pay for the funeral expenses.

Shooting and editing video of my rides happens to be another hobby in addition to cycling itself.

Yeah, that's one thing. Running a video camera for "safety" reasons is another thing.

That's part of it, also.

I used to not run cameras. Then I had a state trooper harass me on a 2-lane road saying I had to ride on the white line over his PA speaker (wrong, because narrow lanes barely 10 feet wide). I emailed his captain later that day about the incident, referenced the applicable state laws, and the captain sided with me. I haven't had any real problems with that trooper since then (almost 2 years ago), but it was at that time I decided to get a camera in case he tried something similar again, or tried to falsely cite me for something.
