70s Peugeot—model? Value?

Picked up this tall Peugeot today. Looks UO8-ish to me, but I’m not a Peugeot-ite. Ideas of which model? And how much would it go for in your market? TIA.

UO8, in that condition, not much. Aztec head lugs, chrome socks, plus DT pump peg = UO8.

Steel rims, steel seat post, plastic derailleur set.

$50 in my market.

If pump is good, it will be worth $50 by itself.

Mid 1970s +/-. Exact year has no bearing on value.

UO8 and more a seventies vintage than eighties, in my opinion. As it sits I doubt that I would offer $50.00 for the bike. It, for me, would be a flipper as it is way to big. Cleaned up, serviced, road worthy and safe to ride, I would want $150 and that is only if I did not have to install new tires. If the tires were shot, as found, I would pass on the bike. All that said...

I live in Canada and, with the coming of Spring, bike prices soar. Timed right and with good marketing skills, I might get $200.00 for the bike, assuming it was safe for the buyer to ride.

In closing, I would definitely pay $50.00 CND just for the pump.

I would clean up the paint, grease the seatpost if it comes loose and service the headset. Then sell it as-is; not worth refreshing, the cost of consumables will exceed the value. If I WAS going to re-do it, I'd put on some parts bin flat or swept bars with some cheap levers and thumb shifters and make it a 1x5 townie. If it looked nice, I could maybe get $200 in the spring if I sold it on campus.

Thanks! That's essentially my plan (though I'll likely sell off some of the nicer bits separately). Perhaps a single speed with upright bars or a 1 x 5. I'll need to deal with converting the crankset to cotterless, but the parts to do that are likely in my bins.

The seat and pump are worth more than the bike take them off and get $50+ sold sepreratei for each clean it up put a basic seat on it and sell for $150 or so. So while a low end UO-8 it's worth $200-250.

To add in nicer original condition most of these 70's pugs it seems the parts re often times worth 2 or 3x what the whole bike is worth.

Tire sweepers are neat. And what’s the dohicky on the front hub? These are nice riding bikes and this one looks like it’ll clean up great.

just one of the things that make this a cool find. I know it ain’t no high end bike , but still a nice bike that will clean up nicely. Please update us on how it looks after cleaning with pics. To me , that is the fun of this hobby. Finding something like this in that good of shape is pure joy!
