Agreed. There are plenty of great Di2 compatible handlebars, and a wired front end only requires you to use one additional port in the frame — the one at the top of the down tube. Another advantage is that you only have to keep track of the charge level on one battery, which is easy since the system comes with Bluetooth and henve gives a battery readout on your computer.

Only an idiot would want bluetooth brakes. But hey; new and shiny tech. Somewhere in my post history I said it, I said it; wireless everything on bikes....

I would guess because rim brakes are disappearing from road bikes with every year that goes by. Practically all of the big players are mostly disc now.

I would be very uncomfortable with wireless brakes. Although it appears Shimano has been looking at the idea.

Never really saw the point of a wireless connection vs wires for two things bolted to the same object that sit only 4 feet apart and never move.

2 mountain bikes, 2 road bikes, 2 fat bikes and one hybrid bike (Specialized Sirrus X)
One of the mountain bikes (hard tail) is my backup in case something goes wrong with my full suspension mountain bike.

These things look awesome, are very light, have a very nice braking power and are super simple to maintain. No rubbing noise, no nothing. The pads last forever. I am not against disk brakes, I have them on my MTB for God's sake, but I'm against mass media and marketing. Yeah. I know. Corporations are only here for the money. Peopole usually do what they are told to do.
Corporations are here to put money into the hands of people.

I'd be a little nervous with wireless brakes in anything. But, electronic brake by wire is already here in cars.

Well... I would probably partially agree and strongly disagree with you. Corporations put money into executives and shareholders hands. They only put a fraction of money (called your salary) into your hands.

Just remember, if it wasn’t for those companies providing jobs, we’d all be hunting, gathering, and fighting just to stay alive.

And by the way, people have been surviving, and often thriving, on this planet since long before the corporation became such a dominant institution. You should read some economic history.
