Greetings from Daegu, Korea!

This is a long shot, I know, but maybe one or more of you might be here in Daegu?

Welcome. I spent a night in Taegu back in 1989. We flew in from the USS Tarawa to pick up the mail.
Pusan was our first port call of the deployment.
Some Korean Marines (ROK Marines) came aboard ship and did some training with us.
I thought Korea was a great place to visit.

I lived in Korea for many years in YoungGwang and Ulchin working for KEPCOand visited Deagu many times. South Korea is a fun and very interesting country. My sons and I are planning to ride from Seoul to Pusan next year. Are you planning a visit?

I have not been back to Asia since 1989.
I would love to go back when this COVID-19 stuff is finally over.
When my sons were tae kwando students, around 2008, we almost made a voyage to Korea so that they could attend a camp with other kids from their Dojan. Unfortunately, some unexpected expenses popped up, so we couldn’t go.

I live in Daegu and am looking for riding partners. I have recently leaned about some local bike clubs so I will contact them but I thought it might be fun to see if anyone in the forum was here.

There are a lot of bike trails and tons of information to be found on line. Have you tried any of the trails like the four river trail? Koreans are known for being friendly and getting connected to a local club should be easy. Please let us know about the trails and clubs... Thanks

The trails are fantastic so far. Almost all my riding has been on trails so far. Sometimes the signage can be a little unclear though, more than once I have lost the trail but it's all good.

I found some info on local bike clubs but I haven't made contact yet. They seem really active.

Try contacting the foreign schools or leaving messages along the bike trails.. Most Koreans are welcoming and willing to invite new people into the club.
