Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So a couple of weeks ago I took my wife shopping for mother’s day. It had gotten warm and she didn’t have any clothes she wanted to wear. Hit up a good sale and it was around 100.00. So she said for father’s day my budget was 100.00

Yesterday I found a christian bookstore that was within driving range. She has been looking for one and they have all closed in our area. So I took her there as a surprise and told her to get what ever she wanted. She spent about 75.00. Today we were walking around colonial williamsburg and a new shoe store opened up. I told her to check it out and sure enough they have a full stock of Birkenstocks. She’s been wanting Birkenstocks for a long time so I said go for it. These were roughly 100.00 dollars.

I took her out to dinner for mother’s day, and she casually says “this means your father’s day budget has been up to 275…..”.

Long story short this guy just ordered Stages Power Meter!!!!! With the 20 percent off promo competive is doing right now it came right under budget.

Now I will be able to visually see how much my rotor rub is making me work.

i thought your FD budget would be $100, and the rest spent by her would just be living expenses. Lol. That’s usually how it works.

So by spending more money, you get "permission" to spend even more money?

Is that how this incentive system works?

well, when I told one of my team mates that I was trying to get a cycle cross bike, he said to buy her a new ring equal to or worth more than the bike.

He might be onto something.

I’ve been saying that for months - you spend on her, you spend on yourself.

Just remember, a $4k bike really costs $8k.

So I was trying to explain it to her tonight. So I order the power meter and she’s like that’s it, you don’t need anything else for your bikes right?

Well, what happens when you buy a lower tier bike you have to put money into it where as the madone doesn’t need anything.

She rolled her eyes.

As soon as this guy comes pick up this surf board i’m ordering the easton carbon bars……..

I am suppose to upgrade her engagement ring this year. Cost will include the cycle cross bike…..

Man, engagement rings should never be “upgraded.” The one she said yes over should be forever. Nothing wrong with getting a supplement, however, such as an anniversary ring. If you “upgrade” the engagement or wedding ring, what’s to stop her from wanting to upgrade the husband?

My wife doesn’t understand the “need” for electronic shifting. According to her, the bike I have is far greater than my talents. SMH.

All a dime a dozen pal.

Just think, she doesn’t have to work but can take half of everything or more when she finds the upgrade. Basically, she gets it for free. I’m in the same boat, my friend.

How much time does she spend a Target? MILF heaven.
