Tubus Cosmo rack fit 700c?
The Tubus website and all the ads state that the Tubus Cosmo rear rack fits 26 / 28 wheels. Does that mean it will also fit my 700c wheels (non-disc)? I'm kinda' confused and they're too expensive to make a mistake!
I'm looking for a rear rack for my Trek 730 to support Ortlieb panniers and a trunk rack.
So will the Tubus Cosmo 26/28 rack fit my 700c wheels? Any advice appreciated.

Yes it will fit 700c wheels.
Tubus has detailed specs on their site:
https://www.tubus.com/fileadmin/user...smo_TZ_2.0.pdf
On each product page, there's a "Technical Drawing" link to the PDF page with specs. Make sure the model number ("ART. 70000" in this case) on the spec page matches the actual product in question.

Thanks Tyrion. I contacted the seller, Planet Cyclery, and they said it would NOT fit 700c wheels.
The rack is on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/274489148664
It is listed as "TUBUS Bike Rack Rr Tubus Cosmo Stainless Steel 26/28 Sl" with an MPN of 70000. The ebay pic looks exactly like all other examples on the web.
Price at $109.95 looks too good to be true, therefore I worry.

A bunch of sites including https://www.biketiresdirect.com/prod...bus-cosmo-rack say something like this: "Fits bikes with 26" to 700c wheels." They list it as "Tubus Cosmo Rack Mfg PartNum:70000" at $185 (out of stock).
I sent an email to Ortlieb/Tubus asking about fitment of this rack on 700c wheels. Awaiting reply, which I'll post.

Ortlieb's page for the rack lists one size, "for 700 or 26" and lower on the page says "Wheel Size: 26″ or 700c". My impression was that racks for "26 or 28" is Tubus-speak for "fits 26-inch or 700c". They use the same 26/28" terminology for Racktime racks as well (Tubus makes these). The Racktime Addit rack, for example, is officially listed as 26/28" and will actually fit 29" wheels up to 60mm in width.

The Cosmo is 370mm from the lower attachment point to the top of the deck. The Cargo Classic measures 373mm for the same dimension. I have a Cargo Classic on a 700C bike that fits perfectly. The 3mm difference...about the thickness of a nickel...isn’t going to make much of a difference.
For the record, all of the Tubus racks are for 28” (700C and/or 27”) wheels or 26” wheels. They work with 26” wheels but they are really designed for 700C wheels. They sit a little high on a 26” wheel frame.

I have a Cosmo on my disk braked Ogre.
The next thing you might wonder could be how wide a tire they handle.
I've run 60x622 or 2.35x700c on mine with no issue on the Cosmo.
Hope this helps
Some suggested a while ago that the Tubus Nova was no longer being made, which was the complimentary front SS rack, which I also run.
Be aware that they will still suffer a small amount of oxidisation possibly due to my living coastal, but it hasn't turned to problematic rust.
They are not marine grade SS and are a non polished, matt finish.
Cheers

Thanks rifraf. The tires on my bike are 35mm, so it's good to know tire fit won't be a problem. I ordered the Cosmo rack and it's been shipped.
The Tubus Tara front rack is offered in stainless steel which should/might match the finish of the Cosmo rack, but it's also $50 more expensive than the standard Tara rack. I will wait until I get the Cosmo rack before spending more money!

Both my Cosmo and my Tara SS I bought from Bike-Components.de, bypassing Tubus's insane US pricing. The Cosmo has actually gotten cheaper in US pricing used to be list price well north of $200USD in the USA IIRC....It is still cheaper outside the USA. Tubus/Ortlieb have nutters pricing in the USA even before Human Malware hit.

The Tubus Tara stainless rear rack arrived today. EZ install and rock solid. Very nice.
I just ordered the Tubus Tara stainless front rack from Bike24.com in Germany. It was priced in Euros and came to $101.92 USD delivered. They say 2-3 weeks for delivery which is ok by me. Now I need to get the front fork adapters before it arrives.
P.S. My editing seems to have deleted a prior post by me. No big loss .
