Help me identify this Colnago

Does someone recognise the model and the year? According to the paintjob I would say mid 90th. It also has 8 Speed but I don’t know if the frame has been modified for 8 speed. Because the rear brake has internal cable routing it could be a Piu.
Is it a quality frame? The parts are mixed 105 8 Speed parts and Suntour breaks and crank How much would you spend?

Thank your for your advise.

That looks like it has a fluted top tube, and I can't tell about the downtube.

So, I'm thinking a version of the Colnago Mexico.

according to the Logo font with world campion strips yes - mid to late 80s.
According to the 8 Speed 105 mid 90s - maybe an upgrade but different rear dimension, isn’t it?

However did not find another colnago with the identical paintjob in the internet. There were similar but never the same. Does someone recognise the paintjob as original? The frame and fork are original in my opinion.

Next week I will have more details after an onsite check...

Get a picture of the bottom bracket.

That will help determine a timeframe

Ace of Clubs ot cut out on most Colnagos depending on year

But in the 90s they did not use the club logo due to running the cables underneath .

Not sure if it was for s few years or they stopped doing it completely.

Someone with more expertise will hopefully chime in!

Kinda doubt that.

No seat tube bottle bosses says no later than '88.
Morse code pattern paint says '87.
Fork crown says circa '87 as well.

Early 90's would already have the Thron Super decal.

I bought the bike. The Bottom Bracket, Crank and front derailleur is a Suntour GPX (1989-1991). Frame has Colnago Serial No. and logo decals are original. I still don’t know which model it is. But I would stick to the Suntour GPX time period and a SuperPiu. The 105 8 Speed derailleur looks like a upgrade however the frame looks for 130mm width axle. Weight is with pedals 9,9kg.

Nice !

A 8 speed Campagnolo Ergopower parts kit would look sensational on that machine ! But it looks ready to go as -is too

I am not happy with the crank. Will decide after a polish If I replace it with a Campagnolo. New Chain, bar tape and saddle is ordered. Also the chrome and paint need a deep polish. Stay tuned for a after picture but It will take time to rebuild.
