Champlain Valley Trail

Heading out tomorrow to ride the Champlain Valley Trail after leaving the Mohawk Hudson.
Planning on getting to Rouses Point and crossing over into Vermont and heading back to Rensselaer.
If you happen to see the loaded bike with yellow fenders, thats me,

The Champlain Islands, going south from Rouse's/Alburgh, are nice, smooth pavement, light traffic, wonderful scenery.

Just did that the other direction - from Burlington to Rouses Point, down to the Adirondacks, across the lake to Charlotte, VT. Riding on the Hero Islands is super nice! So is the Au Bord du Lac B+B in Rouses Point.

The section somewhere between Westport and Port Henry was pretty hilly :-) Beautiful area to bike.

There were some "wonderful" hill climbs out of Whitehall. Vechicles both large and small gave me plenty or room on the road.
The downhill after Keesville was at about 30 MPH. The road to Rouses Point had plenty of shoulders.
The breakfast place before crossing the bridge into Vermont was great.
Down Rt. 2 towards Burlington was good and the Island Line Trail was in good shape.
Had to get a campsite In Shelburn as North Beach was full (Shelburn Canping Area ws great (has pool)
South on 22 A to DAR good roads and excellent State Park (check out WAGS for supplies just befor DAR)
RT, 17 to 125 back to 22a South (new paving) to Fair Haven. Check out Wooden Soldier in Fair HAven for food,
South on 22a to Panorana Motel( looks a little shady but great room & price)
Rt 22a to 23 to 40 South and then to 29 back to 113 South to Stillwater and back to Waterford. in pouring rain
