Probably not as much as you would like. If you have the old parts, I'd put them back on and try to sell those great Moose bars and that rack separately.

In original clean condition that bike might bring $150 or so depending on your market.

Buying or selling? $200 is on the high side for that bike but it has good looking tires and parts. If that bike works well and you like that front rack, $200 is not a crazy price to pay for this bike. That said, you should be able to find a better quality vintage MTB locally for less if you are patient.

Not without front brake calipers. Are they missing because of clearance problems with that huge front rack?

I would say yes it's worth $200 if someone likes the setup. Myself I don't like the setup and wouldn't buy it oversized rack on the front, no front brake and a cheaper crank with single. Some one spent a bunch of time and money to effectively make the bike worse IMHO it would have been better and easier cheaper to just to leave the bike basically stock and just but a standard rack on the rear. Wren buying I would say avoid other peoples questionable costume builds ujnless it has a lot of nice valuable parts and a fairly low price.

Since 90% of your braking power is with the front brake, I would consider this bike unsafe.

Doesn't look like it, to me, certainly not an 850. Of course, it'll depend on what the buyer sees in it, and where it's being sold (ie, in "Podunk" it might be worthless, but in NY it might well be worth that).

Two years ago, I picked up an all-original 1996 Trek 970 ZX (not lugged, in this vintage), needing only a basic "tune-up," cables and brake pads, in good, rideable shape. Was $100, and this in one of the larger urban areas of the U.S. Have since refurbished it and changed it into a decent upright city/commuter type bike, worth far more than that $100 (+ wheelset, + 2x11spd drivetrain, + brakes, + head/stem/bars). Of course, that was two years back. There doesn't seem to be quite the number of such bikes being sold, these days, so perhaps the value is increasing.

I would tend to agree with no front brake and oversized cargo rack it is unsafe to ride.
