Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Home Repair stand suggestion?

Currently using the Feedback Sprint, which I have loved but the clamp does not hold the post on my SL7 Tarmac correctly. I have to fold the arm of my stand in to get it to grip my seatpost properly, and that bring the bike too close to the center post of the stand. Looking for recommendations for a new home repair stand. thx

My Parktool works fine for me. I can't say anything about your bike-specific issues, though.

Parktool has a ton of different models

Doesn't the Feedback Sports Sprint hold the bike by the dropouts? If you're trying to clamp the seatpost you might be doing it wrong.

FeedBack Sports has replacement parts for all of their stands.
I dealt with them directly when I needed a replacement clamp part.
Covid has probably messed up their inventory levels but I’d figure out the part number(s) I needed,
and give them a call before buying a whole new stand!

If the issue is the clamp can’t grip the seat post because it is “aero” , a frame clamp would work:

The Park Team Issue is the one that I use.

Folds up nicely (if traveling) and is heavy and stout. As it uses the dropouts/axles there are never any issues with carbon frames or seatposts.

Ditto.

My Park Tool stand has served me well for close to 40 years and it will outlast me (76 and counting).

My model clamps at the seatpost. I just keep an old towel in the clamps to keep from accidentally applying too much force to the frame.

I have the exact same stand (Feedback Sports Ultralight). Is the problem an aero seat post which does not have enough width for the clamp to hold onto, such that you have folded the arm of the stand to clamp the front and back of the seat post?

@SoSmellyAir that is exactly the problem, and yes-- I am using the Ultralight stand. I love the stand otherwise but does not interract with my seatpost well at all. Very awkward setup currently with the arm folded sideways to grim the seatpost front to rear.

Pretty hard to go past one of these:

I've got one with a fitting on the back that just has four bolt holes, which is probably the cheapest way to get a top-notch clamp, and you can just bodge up whatever stand. I've got mine booked to a bit of box section I chuck in the bench vise.
