Going out to the steps…

Progressing!

Going out to the wall…

Haven’t been in very far here since before last Christmas when I unloaded my moving pods!

I cleaned out the previous owner’s left behinds…

…and put my stuff in…

Should be done tomorrow around 5:30-6:00!
So much space!
Then the magic starts!
I’ll build new benches and ring the whole inside with peg board!
I’m going to have register at Home Depot for pegs!
A lot of the redundant bicycle stuff filling up the inside bicycle/gun shop(s)
is going out here…the inside shop(s) will also be ringed with peg board! Everything from the floor up is going to be painted white in the new outside work shop!
And more than enough light!
I’m going to be able to utilize all of my pro stands inside and out!
There will be outside shop areas and benches for when I want to work outside, too!
I will utilize my bench mounted work stands out here, too!

This is what I have been collecting and saving for, for years!
I can work/play year round down here!
I can also start using my wood working tools here also!
There’s a 40’ covered patio that leads to the outside workshop!
I won’t have to move my saws and all back and forth anymore!
They were under benches under piles of just stuff!
180% from where I have been, mentally and physically in this last year!
Later y’all!

Lil’ warm…gotta frame in the A/C!

All boxed in now…

…hmmmm…needs workbench…

…got workbench…ahhhh, flat surfaces! So much space under these guys, too! So much open floor space! Definitely worth the investment!

Shelves gotta go! Needs pegboards! Soon. And lighting! The lighting will hung under the new, higher shelving.
I can also start to bring out the redundant bicycle/gun shop tools from the inside shop so I can utilize it fully! Gotta hang the bicycles, too!

Putting some work in! Everything is starting to happen now!
I must’ve left all of my bicycle hooks at the Mass. house! I have these and now that I have installed one of big vices on the new bench, I can make them work!
A few, “taps”, with the hammer and they’re actually better than the dedicated hooks! See pics…
One of my tools boxes rolled right under the new bench…catches just enough to keep it in place!

Tap. Tap.

Carts will still fit under the hanging bicycles!

Love my old Treks!

Opening up floor space!

You can see the old, “foot print”…

I knew I had a bunch of these! They have been on here for months! Whole side of the box is probably magnetized now!

Doin’ the insulatin’ of the outside(sunny side)walls tomorrow. Then gotta engineer the ceiling/metal roof to hold insulation… Always over 100*+! Probably gonna invest in a exhaust fan, too!

Three 4’x8’ pegboards goin’ up in the work-shed after the insulation tomorrow!
I’ve pretty much worked outside jobs and played outside my whole life and I can acclimate to the weather quickly or I have the luxury of leaving that particular environment for another!
I got here two days after Thanksgiving, 2021, and I have been in a perpetual summer condition ever since!

Only drawback i see is that you are going to run out of bike storage space if you keep using your bicycle house for all that other stuff.

In the beginning…

Like a big, Easy Bake Oven!

!

Sunny side wall…The ceiling is the biggest heat

Back wall will be pegboard, too!
contributor here!

Takin’ shape! Startin’ to the results of hard work! Shelving all across the top and probably both corners!

Last corner!

Nope! Second bedroom/bicycleroom, yup. it’s one word, and the living/display bicycleroom!
I haven’t had time or the opportunity to really acquire any more bicycles since retiring and moving south…

Two pegboards going up in here with shelving, upper and lower.
Stacked tool box being separated with the upper boxes going onto the bench and the lower roller is going under the work bench.
There will be a pegboard on the bench wall.
That bike rack holds six bicycles so it will be deployed either to the living room or left here in the bicycle/gun room where it is…but against the wall
Wheels and tires kinda always a problem or an obstacle to be overcome!
Content/Intent, may/will change without prior notice.

99% of the pegboard is done!

Shelving is next, above the pegboard and in the corners!

Still able to raise my arms! Ooops! Still gotta get that ceiling insulated! Probably going to glue rigid board insulation up there.

‘K! Got done about 10:00ish last night! I do my best work at night! There will be shelving above the p’ board and in that corner…maybe under the p’board, too…

I can finally start hanging the bicycle tools up!

I bought a lot of hooks/pegs! A good start between here and the workshop shed! Probably will need some more specific hooks/pegs as I go.

I’ll use these more here, with the “new” retro bikes people have bought here at the big box stores. Just the fact that a lot of the bikes here have been passed around the closed neighborhood for years! Mostly living their lives under carports or in sheds. Not ridden consistently because, like now, we are getting a whole lotta rain! Bookended by really hot sunny days. Fragile population… Some bikes worked on by other residents, then sit idle for 2, 3, + years!

Ceiling insulation doing it’s job! Usually about 115* to 120*! The A/C can finally do it’s job! This is without the A/C!

Well. That only took about a year to get to this point!
Left Massachusetts the day after Thanksgiving…Camped until signing and moving in on December 17th, 2021…
Still gotta get the woodworking stuff outta here!
Dedicated bench, woodworking surface being planned next under the 40’ covered patio!
Table saw, router, and chop saw all to be built into the bench top: lowered till needed!
Another retirement dream!
Except for a couple hurricanes, I’ve in perpetual spring/summer here!
No more 40* days in the crowded shop up north!
I can utilize whichever shop suits me at the time down here!
Still reconciling my new life down here…
I have walked, been pulled through four(4) life changing situations and have come out the other ends all in one piece!
Good people and my newly utilized faith have gotten me this far!
Oh! And my life buddy, Max!
We we’re both kinda feral by the time we got here!

My life buddy, Max!
Good night all.
Thanks for providing me a place to record this last, almost 12 months, and your responses of course!

I made another trade-off, too! See pics!

Cape Cod garage shop…no room for useful heaters…took awhile to recover after a couple of hours of these temps! Also a lot of times there was 2-3 of drifting snow just on the other side of the frozen to the earth garage door!

Outside shed/shop…I’m glad that I insulated the place! There is A/C…I don’t like to work with the solid metal door closed…I pretty much wear just enough to be decent if someone wanders in off the street! Also I’ve got a bunch of bathing suits… I never minded sweating…I just gotta remember to stay hydrated! If it does get to be too much, there’s the outside, “there’s always a breeze here”, bench under the 40’ covered patio and the inside A/C’d shop, exercise/gun room, general fix-it area…
I’m also retired with no adult supervision and can work at any time! I can take advantage of the cooler nights or after the daily showers which really knock the temps down!
