Hello All-I bought a Motobecane Gran Turismo hybrid/touring bike from Bikes Direct in 2011. I toured all over with it. It was my baby. It was stolen 3 months ago. The theft of a beloved bike is a real kicker isn't it? I'm sure you've started looking at options, and there are less triple equipped touring bikes out there now.
I remember the gran Turismo but was always confused why they went with a road triple and not smaller chain rings.
The Kona sutra is still made I believe, but what have you found?
What market are you in, North America?

If you find a used Windsor Tourist, It was similar, 'cept it had STI shifters instead of bar ends. Seems like it's becoming to find bikes that come with 36 hole touring wheels. At bikes direct, they had to really downspec their newer bikes to get them into the price point they are trying to hit. Fuji had/ has? a similar touring bike.

Drag... I lost my beloved LHT to bike theft last year. Although not a direct replacement for your bike, you might consider a LHT or the bike I replaced it with.. the Fuji Touring. Both are steel triples with bar end shifters. Both have disc brakes, or you can get rim of you shop used.

And that makes me a little nervous. Is it worth it still for a touring bike?

Sorry to hear about the theft. Most all bike owners have experienced it at some point. Not that it helps, but we feel your pain.
