SRAM trigger shifter thumb reach issue

Anyone have an issue with your thumb comfortably reaching the bottom (release) trigger? Just converted from old Shimano XT trigger shifters to a 1x11 SRAM trigger shifter. I’ve tried all different positions on the handlebar but cannot seem to find that sweet spot. I have normal sized hands but cannot seem to reach that bottom trigger in a natural, comfortable manner. Anyone having similar issues?

Rotating the shifter so the lever(s) are up higher helps. Don't position them low under the bar. Seems like you'd have found a position that works if you have 'tried everything'.

I actually find the ergonomics on my Sram NX 11 speed shifters to be really good.... better than the SLX and XT 11 speed shifters I have.
