BikeTrail+
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum.
We are building an Application called Biketrail+ dedicated to Mountain Bikers and focusing on Navigation and Safety Assistance, a bit like “Waze”. Would you accept to participate to early testing? If you are interested, please contact us replying to that post.
Thanks
Romain

What would distinguish this app from MTB Project, Trailforks, Gaia GPS?

Hi Kapusta and prj71,
Thanks for sharing your comments.
We is the small biketrail+ team.
What will make our app different from the ones you refer to is the possibility to receive notifications from other MTBikers in the area about hazard on the track, as well as our app proposing you an alternative track.

Nobody out mountain biking on the trail is going to take time out to sit on their phone and mark hazards on the trail. And nobody riding the trail is going to take the time to check their phone every time a notification comes in.

A lot of MTB is done outside of cell coverage. All the useful MTB apps work off-line.
Also, the amount of trail data you will need to make automatic detour recs goes far beyond anything out there to date.how do you plan to gather this data?
If this has any utility, it sounds like it might have more for road riding (including touring and commuting).
