Semi Wireless Di2 and Garmin communication
My current bike has Di2, and uses the wireless unit to communicate with my Garmin computer. My N+1 bike 
will have the new 12 speed 105 Di2 group with wireless connection to the brifters.
Does anyone know if the wireless brifters can connect to the Garmin GPS without any additional components? Info on the new 105 Di2 is still hard to find, but I would hope that it is similar to the Ultegra and Dura-Ace semi wireless systems. I do know the 105 Di2 lacks the hood buttons, though.

I'm not going to guess at your question. But durn, that'll suck not having the buttons on the tops of the hoods!
I suppose if you run in full synchro, you can make the left shifter control your Garmin. Notwithstanding any optional d-fly device that might be required. Though I'd expect if any of the 105 is wireless that it'll also pair and communicate to your Garmin.

Just found some updated info. Evidently, the BT connection between the brifters and the rest of the system can also be connected to your head unit.

I was going to say. I read somewhere (don't ask me where, I cannot recall) that the wireless Di2 unit does connect to your Garmin. So there is no need for the shimano ew-wu111 unit.

I had to buy a newer battery to be able to use the D Fly. 
They're definitely improving things for their customers, except the ones who use HammerHead.

My 12sp Ultegra R8100 connects to me Edge 830 without the use of any add-ons (D-Fly).
The Edge 830 binds with the RD.
Shimano claimed the buttons on the the new 12sp are easier to operate than the R8000 series, I do NOT find this to be the case.
I find them pretty useless. On the 12sp I can't seem to find the extremely small button under the large rubber hood/cover.
What's worse is the delay from successfully using the hood button to the 830's screen actually changing. So when using a hood button to try and switch screens, I have to wait and see between attempted button presses.
I find a swipe of the 830's touch screen much easier, reliable and quicker.
