Brass grommets for Pannier/Tailbox
Added a cargo net to the rear pannier/tailbox yesterday:
Pannier/Tailbox. New marketing term.
Pannier/Tailbox
Type Eleven Cargo Bike with masts for the rain canopy
Grommets installed in the top edge of the box panniers. The corrugated polypropylene is doubled-over about 1.75 inches at the top edge for reinforcement and to keep the rain out.
Used blue masking tape to hold the die and anvil to the jaws of the C-clamp (they kept falling and I only have two hands)
Grommet
Box of brass grommets, hole-punch, and dies

What is all the other construction on the bike for, in particular the tubes going above the rider? Is this for some parade? Construction for the sake of construction? (Sounds good to me .) Obviously the polypropylene box will not last very long but in short term should be OK.

I’ll bring you up to date on the Type Eleven cargo bike. There are several levels or layers, each built upon the previous.
The front has a cargo platform. The LED lights are on the underside of the platform.
The rear pannier/tailbox is mounted on a rack.
Poles hold up the rain canopy. I will now call up the photo library:
This bike got a new Pannier/Tailbox in 2020, replacing the one that had been used since 2012.

More photos:
The Pannier/Tailbox. Panniers, but the sides are higher than the rack.
Clear Vinyl for riding in the rain
Clear vinyl rain canopy
This shows the LED lighting. The lights were carefully pried from the old panniers, and glued to the new pannier/tailbox.
