Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How do you tell a next-door neighbor that their festering kiddie pool is breeding mosquitos? They're even attacking in the daytime, just now in full sunlight where I'm usually safe.

We have a respectful relationship, wave and smile and say hello and all, but they've only been there a year so we're not 'tight" yet. I'm dying to just give them a couple mosquito dunks but they have 2 young-uns and I don't want to be responsible if they misuse it.

Sneak over at night and pour some DDT in it.

Ick.

How's the ol' softball arm? Think you could plunk some chlorine tabs in to the pool?

Not bad, but I doubt they still make that, although I wouldn’t put it past Monsanto.

As luck would have it, it’s on the other end of their yard.

Maybe I should stop getting my new routes from a climber.

Not quite an official datlas ride of 100'/mile but ~50mi and 4300' still hurt quite a bit.

Ended up hitting PRs on a decent amount of segments and got a 7w increase on my eFTP from Intervals

Must be why I've been glued to the couch all afternoon

Do you have a lot of short steep climbs there? Got a low gear?

There's not much longer than 6-8 miles and 2000' close by.

Lots of ~2 miles and 800'-1000' though with 10-15% kicks.

I've got a 34x32 and I use it regularly.
