Now for something completely different. BMX content
Not the usual type of bike that i buy but it really stood out at the local brocante.
It was wedged in between some kids bikes and some low end adult bikes.
After asking about the price and being told 10 euros i got my wallet out straight away.
But what to do with it now?

It seems to be nearly complete.
The gold bars are looking not so golden and the cross bar has been removed at some point.
The front brake is missing the correct bolt with spring assembly.
Both brakes are missing the original brake pads.
Brake levers i think should be golden as well.
I think the saddle is original?
Also the frame is pretty cool as it is oval shaped. There are few stickers saying Oval Competition.
As i haven't had a bmx for many years, I bought my friends Mongoose Supergoose while at school, i'm not sure of sizing!
Are these full size BMXs or Kids BMXs? I can't recall whether BMXs were this small.

I think all BMX stuff is small- I see high school aged kids riding them around town- I don't know how they do it. I see adults doing trick stuff- again, I have no idea how you can do it.

That's a pretty good project. I'd certainly take the time to restore it, and this includes sourcing a replacement set of handlebars.

I think it's time to get a new set of handlebars. CrMo / chromium plated or Mongoose SS cross bars would be best. The chain definitely has to go - it's got too much rust to recover. Hopefully the freewheel still works.
The SunTour group, Sugino crankset and Sakae-Ringyo pedals seem pretty nice. They should be well-worth rebuilding / repacking.
Hard to tell from the pics, but those MIG welds look sort of cobby. But then it's a Raleigh - not a Kuwahara, Hutch, or Santa-Ana built GT, or a Cali-built Mongoose.

I have fitted a bolt and spring to the front brake.
Also i have fitted some better tyres and a chain and it's starting to look better already.
One small problem though! On the rear wheel, one stunt peg won't undo.
Every time i try and undo it the axle will just turn with it and loosen the bearing cups.
I have tried locking a couple of nuts on the otherside but it makes no difference and still i can't undo it.
Is there any other trick to get this peg loose?
