What bike might this be? I believe, it's Santa Cruz (carbon frame, full suspension). But what model??? For keeping it in safe place for some years now, the suspension rear fork arms have been connected to the top tube hole with the cables hanging from the frame, thus the funny geometry at the moment. No match from the net for this one. KCNC Hollowtech bb, Deore XT cranks.

It is definitely not a Santa Cruz. They have never used that suspension design.

On the other side downtube has text cruz very lightly visible. On this side there is a text ending to 'sta'. Somebody has painted the frame badly in the past. Just hoping this is not some kind of a cheap China copy. The white cross on the headtube is just tape.

It’s not too old whatever it is. Mid 2000’s? No thru axle. Not sure but looks like straight steerer. Something pretty funky going on with FD.

Some shock or linkage parts hidden or missing?

Unfortunately that's all I've got + front derailleur, crankset (Hollowtech), chain (10 speed), KCNC bb. Headtube is for ahead fork with closed cartridge bearings. Rear derailleur hanger is connected to the rear fork with two small screws which is common today. Looks a frame from this century, but early years because the cables are not integrated to the frame. Takes 29" wheels back with large tyres. But without the original fork can't tell if it is for sure 29er.

Headtube is tapered, I have carbon fork to fit the frame if it's 1 1/5". Haven't measured the head tube yet. The frame looks sadder than it is, actually. Scratches, but no dents or anything. The original cranks (Deore XT are taken off for cleaning) KCNC BB, pressfit, pressed in with the threads in the bb shell itself (PF30). No shock absorber, no connector plates. Deore XT front derailleur (braze-on), 10 speed chain (HG-X) with missing link. Looks it might have been Deore XT bike originally.

Just trying to figure out what I've got...treasure or garbage.

I think you should take your picture over to MTBR. It doesn’t look like junk but it doesn’t look very special either and if you’re missing piece parts that’s going to make it hard.

I probably wanted to see something else in the name of this frame. Actually the bike's name ends ista or lsta. I'm going to replace the missing rear suspension parts with self made parts 'till I get a hold on to something I can replace the parts.

It looks like you are missing a linkage piece that would connect the seat tube to the rear seat stays.

If you have the means to fabricate such a piece that sounds like a cool project. I will assume you understand the precision needed, here.

But will you know the length needed? Do you know what shock length and stroke is required, or what the leverage curve on the rear linkage will be so that you know what sort of shock to get (how progressive the spring curve is)?

Yes I do. I'm taking some chances/risks here. The frame was a freebie, so no damage done if the project is not going well. And without any suspension at the rear the bike is not going to the woods or anywhere else for hard ride 'till there is suitable parts in hand.

The frame is 75% surely Degfu or Ican (they are also similar), so unfortunately I know the measures almost certainly quite right.

Those brands are also notorious for copying Scott bikes. Could be a Spark or a Genius from ten or fifteen years back. Edit - maybe not - they were like this but a little more clever with a flip chip and convertible dropouts
