Copper's favorite perch is actually a gift box from our last Islamic holiday where we keep all our candy:

box contents appear much like a child's "haul" of sweets from Trick-Or-Treating on Halloween in the U.S.

Copper looks like he is already a big time telly fan. Note that he keeps the remote control close to paw. Probably loves the BBC nature programs about birds...

Oh, we've got something similar to Halloween's trick-or-treating going on in each of our two annual Islamic holidays, where kids compete for and share candy among each other. Happy times!

Copper is a criminal mastermind; he takes our things hostage knowing that in order for us to get our things back, we're going to need to pick him up

Yes he is the master of disguise and very few words. In fact all his speech was unintelligible. It was my turn to name an animal and picked his name. My wife thought it was a terrible name but grew to like it. At the vets office everyone knew his name and always gave us a big smile. Unfortunately he died of cardiac arrest, he had congestive heart failure and his best buddy, Eddy, died of later that year of the same. They wee quite the pair. Still miss them deeply.

Remind me of the time my wife and I learned the difference between, “trim”, and, “shave”, . with our groomer….she left the head, the feet, and the pom pom tail full…Kitty, the subject, look miserable, almost embarrassed! She came to appreciate the low maintenance…us, too…her nickname was, “Sh*tty Kitty.”

My cat Rebecca occasionally has that problem. She's a long-haired cat, and her fur is prone to mats. When it gets long around her rear-end, it becomes a problem. Her fur's been in good shape all summer, though, fortunately. My vet has a service called a "hygienic trim" or something like that, just for such problems. I think they charge $20 for it. I haven't tried that yet.

Kitty was abused as a kitten…she was awesome on her terms…there was no safe way to come at her…she had to be sedated to have anything done to her! Her cage would practically levitate on the way to the vet’s office! All hands on deck to get her in and out of that cage, at least coming in…still cranky through the fog on the way home!
She lived a long time and died in my arms…

The three of us in this household (my wife, our housekeeper and I) do the best we can, and it can - and does - get tough sometimes. We've given away plenty of cats these couple of years. But caring for the little felids isn't something we ever complain about. In fact, even with the admittedly high feline population around the house, we don't mind taking in the occasional (which is more often than not) house guest or three; the latest of which was Shushu, whose owners brought over last week for a little tryst with our Mars:

Chopper passed away September 7, This pic was taken August 8. He was 16 years old. He was a feral that we took in and quickly became a member of the family. He was mostly loving though sometimes moody but we understood each other.
