23 miles on hybrid cushy seat Saturday. 10 miles on Gravel bike regular seat yesterday. Planning 15 miles on Gravel bike Friday and longer on Sunday. Regular seat on Gravel bike was a bit tender for the first couple miles, but after that seemed fine. Hopefully back to full speed soon!

Thirty miles on Sunday. Gravel bike seems comfortable. I want to do a 50 mile loop this coming Sunday. Too big of a jump? 30 miles on Sunday seemed easy. I feel like 50 miles would be doable.

Did my 50 mile loop on Monday. 42 miles Sunday. First time doing back to back "long" rides (long for me). Was a bit beat towards the end but felt good. Targeting 60 miles next weekend. Longest lifetime is 65 miles. Goal to do a 100 mile ride this year. Planning to bump a little each week. We will see if I hit a wall at some point.

I started getting back into riding more in August of last year (2020). At that time 5 - 10 miles was a typical ride. I started working myself up slowly and got up to 65 miles. Then I got my cancer diagnosis and then had surgery. That set me back a bit, but I am working myself back up. I made a few jumps that were perhaps a bit too much and was really suffering at the end of the ride. I have become a believer in small, consistent gains. Listen to your body. Don't push too far, too fast.

Hi Sorg67, My timeline is running pretty much 1 year behind yours. I have decided on robotic surgery, just waiting for meeting with surgeon and setting a date. It should be late April to mid May. I just wanted to see how you are doing riding 1 year later.

Sorg67 hasn't visited bike forums for several months, so if he does pop in it would be great to hear how he's doing.
However, my RALP (I laugh every time at that acronym, Robotic Assisted Laproscopic Radical Prostatectomy, no idea why the second R is dropped from the acronym) was mid July 2021.
By mid August I was back on the bike, and by mid September I was riding my bike daily to radiation therapy.
Radiation therapy eventually turned the BU bridge into a mountain for me, so the last week of radiation therapy I took alternate transportation.
But it didn't take long for the world to flatten out for me again and I'm back on my bike often, I'm sure I'll be close to 100% this summer.
Everyone heals differently, but for me, my bike has been a great help to my healing though all this.
Good luck. Listen to your body and be patient with yourself.

I am glad to see that this thread popped back up. I haven't posted in it for quite a while. Let me bring you up to date.
My MRI ended up showing a 2nd tumor and other possible trouble spots. So, after a CAT scan and a Bone scan determined that those spots were not other tumors, in August I started on 3 years of quarterly hormone treatments. In early November I started on 28 days of daily radiation treatments. Those ended on December 3rd, 2022.
My PSA number had started at 5.9 in December 2021, had risen to 6.9 by September 2022, and during the radiation treatments had climbed to 9.7 in November 2022. The radiation treatments had irritated the prostate tissue which caused a climb in the numbers during treatment. In February, approxmately 2.5 months after my radiation treatment ended, my PSA number had dropped to only 0.21.
As we caught my cancer very early, no surgery was needed.
I must say that during the first two weeks of daily radiation, I felt fine. I continued to work, ride my bike, and felt pretty normal. At the two week point fatigue hit me like a ton of bricks. I stopped going to work for the rest of the treatments and for about 3 weeks after. Work told me to stay home and rest, and not to worry about coming back until I felt that I was truly ready. I ended up missing about 5 1/2 weeks of work.
Today I still feel like I have less endurance than before this all started. I often take a nap at lunch time but work is cool with that, as well. My oncologist has told me that I can live my life with no restrictions, and that I can ride my bike as much as I want. While I have ridden a bit on my trainer and have got outside for a few short rides, I can't wait until Spring really arrives here.

Back on he bike after prostate biopsy
I haven't had one for a few years but when I did I just stayed off the bike for 24 hours. If it hurt to ride I would not have done it.

Hey cb400bill, thanks for your update. Glad to hear your back riding. Hopefully your endurance and stamina will come back too.

Good luck with your Dr. meeting and make sure to ask questions. Just a suggestion to start doing KEGELS before surgery.

p.s. - hoping your choice of treatment is chosen based on age, physical condition, Gleason Score, prostate condition, diet habits, questions to surgeon, second opinions obtained and research + RESEARCH + RESEARCH

Finally ready to update my situation. I met with surgeon last Friday April 1. Finally got it all scheduled today. Robotic surgery will be April 19. Getting blood labs this week, and last abdominal scan to check lymph nodes will be next Tuesday the 12th. The count down is on.

Recovery was relatively easy but also needs a lot of patience. I was surprised how long it took for the abdomen to feel better. But, 6 surgical holes and a hernia repair will take time to heal.
