1959 Schwinn Fair Lady with back rack??

I found my great grandmother's 1959 Schwinn Fair Lady Bike under our old lake house that her husband built. I was really excited to see it was in pretty good shape considering it's been under there for who knows how long. I have been doing research on them and I havent seen any with a back rack on it like this. Does anyone have any other information on this bike? I know women's bikes arent worth much so I don't intend to sell it, but I do want to restore it and keep it in the family. I would love as much information on it as I can. Thanks!

Most Schwinn stuff had a "Schwinn Approved" label on it, so, in absence of a label, it could have been another maker's accessory from the bike shop. If you post a right side view, you may find someone who has more information.

Looks like a Schwinn dealer-added rack to me.

Yep. I have one of these four-jewel racks on a 1966 Schwinn Starlett III I bought recently for my daughter. And if you check on eBay or CL, you'll find that sellers want a lot for those racks.

And the less elaborate two-jewel racks ona 1966 Schwinn Twinn Deluxe:

thanks

Thanks everyone! I see on eBay that they're going for a pretty good penny! Exciting! I cleaned it up nice now I'm having trouble getting the rust off the springs under the seat.
