Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So frustrating, We installed new AC/heat this past spring. The unit works awesome, however, they didn’t replace the dampers to direct airflow, and they do not work awesome. Upstairs especially our room is always hot as hell, downstairs is usually frigid. Well last week, I took the time and finally got it evened out. It’s not easy because the dampers are aligned right and I don’t think they move when they are supposed to. I used duct tape to hold them into position, while we were out yesterday the tape must have shifted and last night our room was a furnace. I don’t know about you guys but sleeping in heat does wonders for my sinuses. (sarcasm). Feel like poo.

Yup that was cold this morning. At a certain point I couldn’t keep my body temperature up anymore. Luckily the wife called and told me to come home, that’s the true reason I stopped………….

You need to get the system balanced to even out the flow to different rooms. The little louvers don't do anything but direct the flow direction.

The little louvers is all we have. Our house isn’t zoned. We plan on getting the electro dampers next year which will “mimic” a zone system.

EDIT: Or perhaps it's more accurate to say I fell into the trap earlier.
I'm into it on two different devices and getting nowhere. I came over here to see if anybody got it, and to see if I could pick up some hints. I have 4 letters, none in the correct location, and am stumped. But four more guesses on one device and three on the other.

In your attic there should be dampers in-line with the ducts as they exit the air handler. Those are what need to be adjusted. I'd be surprised if you don't have those. They regulate how much air gets blown through each duct, and allow you to adjust for long versus short runs, etc.

I was pissed. The solution has been a go-to starting word that I have tried several times. I was going to start with it this morning but decided on something different. Would have been my first 1. Ended up with a 4 after getting nothing on the first guess.

Thats what I referencing from the beginning. The dampers out of the actual system. Unfortunately, they are messed up.

We got new heat after a miserable winter back in 2020/2021. Two big problems with the system - the thermostat for the rear of the house is in the exactly wrong place, and entirely too much heat goes to the master bedroom. So, we're going to have them come back and move the thermostat and rebalance.

It is at least not a word with two dozen very slight variations to frustrate you.
