Trek FX 5.0 Carbon ok for big guy

I'm getting ready to buy a new bike. It's been quite a while, roughly 2 years, since I've ridden regularly in part due to being to busy with nursing school and in a larger part due to being lazy. I currently have a Specialized Allez and a Specialized Hardrock (converted into a commuter). While I love both bikes and am getting the itch to start riding again, I am also feeling the urge to replace both bikes with a hybrid model. My number one choice right now is the Trek FX 5.0. I'm drawn to the body design, ergonomic handle grips, and the components that it comes equipped with standard.

My question for you all is, do you think a carbon framed bike will be able to hold up against my weight. I am currently back to hovering around 300lbs, though I have recently gotten back into a good workout/eating routine and have historically dropped weight rather quickly, but I'm unsure if the bike will be strong enough to withstand the strain of my weight while I work to drop the poundage. Any and all advice is greatly welcome.
