That's a UK site. I was ready to give some kudos to Canyon, but then checked their US website offerings. Ribble = UK. Decathlon = UK, Boardman = UK. Looks like it's Giant only that offers a higher level bike (maybe the only maker in this article to offer a rim brake CF bike in the US?) here in the US?

My friend back in Ireland is having trouble sourcing a rim brake Wilier Cento (Air? Possibly) from his LBS. I happened to mention it in my LBS in California, as they happen to be a Wilier dealer. They had 5 available to order in his size.
My friend is still considering it, but the 5 bikes might sit in the warehouse for months, or could all disappear over a weekend.

I was most surprised at finding the Canyon UK vs US differential in online offerings. I think Canyon UK has about 7 models of Road bike offered in rim, while US has 1;
I wonder if it's been a faster convincing of US consumers on disc than in Europe?

Here in Croatia, younger cyclists I know are buying discs, if they can afford it. Older cyclists are more reluctant. With less disposable income, on average, the cost factor is more significant to people. Several club mates got Giant Propels with 105 and hydraulic discs which is a great price vs performance proposition and a really good bike.
Gravel is probably helping adoption, too. A couple I know who bought gravel bikes sold their rim brake road bikes and bought disc brake road bikes.

I think the point trying to be made was for a all around cyclist disc brakes are better. However if you want a niche bike as part of your collection rim brakes would be one of them.

I'm in my 50's I've been biking and racing since I was 9 years old. I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone cares about the rim brakes vs disk brakes thing.
