Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Here's another from the same trip, including me in my super-hero costume. If you look closely, you can see a little Swedish flag; the water fall is the border with Norway.

I have pictures of the Mississippi between Iowa and Illinois, from when were there for the UMCA 24-hour Time Trial in 2005 and 2006, but none with the river as a backdrop for our bicycles.

this is the best I can do....

45th parallel on US 23 near Alpena, MI. You can't really see Lake Huron but it's not far. I justify my picture by saying it's pretty marshy right there

End of a climbing ride that started and ended in Lotus, CA. This is the American River.

One of three creek crossings on Amador Creek Road in Amador City, CA. Yes, I did all the climbing on this ride on the single-speed folding bike you see here. I've posted the video of the climb here on BF already.

Back in the Day, like 20 years ago. Prehistoric Pcad. Alpine Boat Basin, Alpine, NJ, that's the mighty Hudson River. That's my Merlin (Spectrum) that broke in two places five years later, piece of crap that it was.

I keep trying to tell people that raw video rules and you don't need music to get views, but so far I'm almost the only woman out there who's uploaded sufferfest videos.

I'm glad there's some good ones out there uploaded by men.

If you watch the video I posted the link to, I crashed at 1:13 when the handlebar latch came undone when I attempted to climb out of the saddle. I laughed my ass off even after resuming my climb. I laughed so much I had to edit out about a minute of it where I was sitting in the middle of the road laughing. It was a very lightly traveled road, so there were no cars or people around.
