Har har. People do use 8min tests for FTP, where they take 90%. We take 95% of 20min tests. So I took just under 92% for this.

I don't even test anymore, just set it based on how well I do hitting my zones in training. Everything but an all out hour effort is guesswork anyway.

Yeah, part of why I did it was that I had a sense from training that my FTP went up.

and even then it may not be a completely accurate test value due to a number of reasons.

Whats most important is that your Test Method is consistent - that's when the number you get becomes useful. Let's not forget about that "F" in FTP.

So yeah, Tuesday Worlds was fast tonight, everyone just went all out. Settled into a group and picked some riders off, was pulling about 10 dudes up feeling great at well over my normal pace....and my calf locked up. I would have been mad but it was an outstanding effort while it lasted.

My calf locks up way too much, I need to work on my hydration and other stuff cus I get them every hammerfest when its over 90.

I'd be interested to hear how long it feels like it takes for your body to reacclimate to a lower altitude.

Even though I'm in total JRA mode (no prescribed intervals/training) I ended up putting in an 11hr week last week (a lot for me), with rides both days on the weekend! I never do that. Now I have a -30tsb.

In the spirit of total laziness, I have decided to sleep in an surf the internet this morning, turning my 2hr ride into a 1hr ride .

Now that's more like it!

Missed CX practice this morning. Maybe I'll do a threshold test later. Maybe I won't. Whatever.

I started taking magnesium supplements and it's really helped avoid cramping.

I'm going the other direction of less data. My quarq has been broken for like 2 weeks and it's actually kind of nice to ride without power. I still have time/distance/elevation though

Hit it hard for a couple 4' sections (one flat and one uphill), 320 and 350w, didn't feel too hard. My fitness is so up in the air right now, I'm not sure how strong I am really.

It will be about 1 month before I formally test FTP and get back on the horse for real.
