Addiction LXXVIII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Depends. Fast group, 100% if I can stay on. Windy ride, 100% except with tailwind. Mountain ride, only when descending unless windy. Casual cruise 0%.
Any time I'm trying to be in a hurry I go to the drops. I have shallow drop bars on my main bike and deep drop on my old bike. It's a shock to jump on the old bike for the first time in months and suddenly the drops are 2" lower.

Yes. I think it's more likely to be lack of attention to detail. Though I am a big fan of non-locality. The lack of attention could possibly be blamed on the Covid, and it could also be an indicator of the state of the country and its direction.

As my wife says, "I don't follow Hockey".

I was out actually cycling. On the road.

Today's ride was one of those where you're not really feeling it, and your shifting feels wonky, and your legs just don't seem to have that snap, and the wind is in your face no matter which way you're going, and you figure, "Well, it's better than working, I guess".

Then you find out it's your fastest ride on that particular route, and you got 10 Strava achievements on a road you've ridden dozens if not hundreds of times. So, I guess I wasn't THAT bad.

My understanding is that it's got two different headset bearing caps and, between those and spacers, it's capable of being as low as (or maybe lower than ) a slammed R3 or taller than the max of a C3. IIRC, the handling should be a tad slower than an R3, which would make it a little quicker than a C3.

”lineless” my ass. I still see the “line” on my right lens all the time. I hate progressive bifocals for that reason. Multi focal contacts on the other hand, .

I watched part of the game Thursday night but didn’t stay long enough to see a dugout shot. What are they doing about social distancing in the dugout, using adjacent grandstands?

it was rained out by the time I turned in, but other games I saw them using seats behind the dugout.

It's kind of a cluster with improper mask wearing and constant fiddling around with the masks. I saw spitting as well, that is an automatic thing that's going to be hard to eliminate. That and crotch adjusting of course.

I can’t wait to see how they plan to pull this off, I think they’re about as delusional as the wh. They need a bubble situation like the NBA, but there are at least 3 times as many players and coaches involved. What’s the plan, Roger?
