I’m looking to buy a higher end used hybrid bike… any suggestions?
I have two road bikes (1987 Cannondale road bike and a 1989 Cannondale Black Lightning) as well as a hybrid bike I bought years ago when I first got into cycling, a 2000 Trek Snap-On 80th Anniversary hybrid. I still use the Trek somewhat regularly, but the Chromoly frame is just way to heavy and I’m definitely ready to upgrade to something with 700c wheels. I am looking for suggestions of your favorite specific models of used hybrid bikes that I should keep an eye out for. I am open to buying a frame and having the bike I want to ride built for me. The only real must for me would be an aluminum or lighter frame material. I would really like to have good quality components (I am hoping for Shimano 105 or better for the derailleurs) and would like to have disc brakes (I know that would rule a lot of older bikes out, so that is not an absolute must but is preferred). I am open to newer or older bikes. Does anyone know of a bike model that would be a good fit for what I am looking for? Or a good frame that I should get and build into what I am looking for? Thanks!

I have a 2020 Canyon Roadlite CF 8.0 with Ultegra drivetrain. From 2017 to 2020 there was also a Roadlite CF 7.0 with Shimano 105 drivetrain. They also have aluminium models in the range. The Roadlite probably has the most aggressive geometry of any hybrid. Extremely fast and agile bike. Maybe you can find a used one for sale. Some people say that buying a bike from Canyon will get you problems with your local bike shop if you need repairs. This has not been my experience though.

Trek FX Sport Carbon 4 or Specialized Sirrus X 5.0?
The Trek will probably be my next bike.

OP....what's your budget? Those Canyon Roadlite's are nice looking bikes!
Building a bike is an option. I recently converted my 2002 Giant OCR road bike (un-used for years) to a flat-bar. It was a shame to see the bike collecting dust as it had 105 F/R derailleurs and Mavic Open Pro rims/105 hubs.
The only limitation is the largest tires I could fit are 700cx25 Continentals. Other than that it's great to have it back in the rotation for zipping around the city.....
