Rained this morning so I rode the old bike without PM. Just 90' at what felt tempo-ish.

It depends, there are a few around here that have many thousands of attempts, but most are in the 1-300 range.
I missed one of my target segments today by 9 seconds on a ~17.5min climb, partly because headwind, partly cuz i went too hard and cracked, and partly because I forgot to push after the last kicker...for some reason the segment continues on for like another 20 seconds on flat road instead of ending where the climb proper does and I soft pedaled it. The same thing happened on another one later in the ride ahhhgrrr! KOM hunting is serious business ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
For real though it's kinda interesting going after the longer climby ones. This particular long climb is weird because it gets pretty level and rolling in the middle so if you go out too hard on the earlier steeper part you really pay for it, and then it kicks up again toward the end and you pay for it even more. Sorta translates better to racing than "do x watts for y minutes"

Which PM are you using? My Powertap has a good seal and I ride it in the rain without worries, like this morning.

I did this one today. 30w more than my last attempt (2012!) but only 2 seconds due to huge winds. Should have been about 20s faster. You can see the moment I turn into the wind for real.

lol you can see where I crack pretty clearly on this and also where I sit up at the end. I'm straight up Ahab about this one, it will be mine. https://www.strava.com/segments/9000...E4NDY1OTc2Mg==
Also you know Jabba could go a lot harder.

Ohhhhhhh man I also want the west side of Mohonk AND Glade. I'm *pretty* sure I can do it, at least Mohonk, but the problem is he's so ****ing strong that I really need to be doing super fresh watts. I'm pretty sure that if I pull it off his revenge will be merciless the next time he goes stomping around the Gunks, and hopefully he doesn't take it out on me in a race haha
Actually if he's the weigh I think he is my w/kg today would've been good for Glade.
Thanks for introducing me to Strava btw! This is your fault haha

You know, re South Gully, as the segment owner I could edit the end of it. Right now it ends at the driveway before the stop sign. If I changed it, 1 and 2 would switch places but you'd still be 3. I think it's OK how it is though.
PS. it's obviously the off season now!
PPS. Jabba=185 lbs
PPPS. Fun fact, 168 of the 2964 attempts on Mohonk are me (5.7%).

But I'm 18th out of 5208 which is decent.

Question: can going some time without riding a road bike leave you somehow unadapted to the hip angle that's normal for a road fit? I was exclusively on a 'cross bike for almost two months, and I'm finding it's a little bit challenging to make the same power now that I've got a road machine again. I suppose it could also be because the fit is a bit more extreme on the new bike than what I was rocking before, either way, should I expect to have to adapt a bit? I'm sort of hoping so... I can always go to a shorter stem down the line if I need to, though.

You should totally splurge and get Strava Premium so you get live Segments on your Garmin. It makes things soooo much more "fun". Even if it is only for a few months of the year you should DOOOO IIIITTTTT.

Yesterday, rode from my house 3 of the 5 climbs on Mount Soledad - Cardeno, Soledad Mountain Road and Nautilus. I passed on La Jolla Messa and Via Capri - too steep. Mostly over/under varying the over from 105 to 110%.
