1972 campagnolo windsor professional bicycle

1972 modified Windsor Pro bicycle
Windsor Professional
Seen his bike in person and found that the pics didn't show or described the extent of issues.
Worst of all, the seat post is stuck. Before I left, I loosened the rusted binding bolt and found that the seat post is SEIZED.
I got the feeling that the owner didn't believe me. I tried my best to rotate it and it wouldn't budge while the owner was right there.
I did tightened the bolt (not too tight due to incase I strip it) and the owner was concerned that someone will get on it and it will move.
Needs a ton of work and not worth $600. Nice seat though.
Oh yeah, wheels need to be rebuilt. Rims are warped and most of the spokes are rusted.

I would love that as a beater if the price wasn't ********. Something to take to the library with those baskets or shopping at the stores on the trailer trash side of town.

Dr. Frankenstein's Trail Bike - $25 (Charleston, West Ashley)

Posted 2021-09-22 17:47

"The good doctor Frankenstein was fond of putting things together from spare parts. This is how this odd trail bike came to be. I had a really cheap one that was falling apart, and I decided to fix it up.
I have been pulling bikes apart, fixing them, and putting them back together since I was 16 years old; it was just a question of getting the parts.
But these days a new derailleur costs as much as a brand new bike did in the 70's. I discovered, though that the resale shops are full of old bikes, and I ended up pulling parts off 4 or 5 such bikes to create the hybrid you see in the pictures. I never did use any parts off the original bike, except for two reflectors.
The result was this rugged, custom 10-speed trail or street machine.
The seat and handlebars adjust without tools. The handlebars (and the position of the brake-levers) can be adjusted so the bike will carry you comfortably off the road or around the neighborhood with the kids. There are lots of places to put your hands while you ride, so it's easy on the back.
It's a 24" bike, so if you're tall this may not be the bike for you. The seat post can be extended way up to fit a tall person, but that's not safe off the road.
Tires are in good shape and can definitely handle any trail you'll find around here.

bicycle frame material: steel

bicycle type: gravel
brake type: cantilever
condition: good
electric assist: none
frame size: 24"
handlebar type: flat
make / manufacturer: Schwinn, Murray, etc., etc.
model name / number: Custom
serial number: Custom
suspension: none (rigid)
wheel size: 24 in"

my guess, 'MOTOR PECAN' is the result of speech-to-text. Possibly old-school, i.e. '<ring ring>hey babe, I wanna finish up this ad to sell that bike, what's the name of it again, can you read it to me? OK got it'

I have seen a listing on facebook for quite a while for a "Vintage Italian made Motobecane" and in the 10 photos, they clearly focused on the label with the name as well as the MADE IN FRANCE sticker on both sides of the frame in two different images .
