Wanted: Trek 720 or miyata 1000 62cm or larger
Tall guy looking for a cool vintage touring bike. Prefer frame and for but willing to consider complete bike for the right price. Later 1980s preferred!

Trek or Miyata
I have a 1982 Trek 614 that was originally bought set up for touring, so it has a triple crankset for example, its a tall bike but i would need to measure it to be sure its 62 or over..
ill take a look tonight and measure.
Regards Gary

A trek 720 was earlier than late 80's it seems to disappear from the trek catalog after 1985... the 520 continues as they still make it today i have a 1995 that i really like(not your size).

Basically im looking for:
- Full chromoly (531 or something else nice)
- 61 to 63 cm
- Cantilever brakes
- Decent rack mounts front and back
- Lugs
- 130mm spacing is a bonus but I'm not attached to the idea
- Would love a Trek or Miyata 1000 but would consider a Fuji or other nice brand if the bike met my other requirements.

The Trek i have I measured and it 61cm, it does not have Canti, brakes, apparently the 614 bike which is a 531 tubed bike is a good candidate for a 650 conversion, i beleive this to mean the spacing for bigger tires is quite good.
It has a rack mounted on the back.
its a 531 bike so it is a lugged steel frame.
i haven't measured the rear spacing but i would imagine its 126mm as its from 1982.

I have a Trek 2000 frame. As with other Trek frames I have done the original frame prep was poor so the paint is flaking off.
Problem has been getting all the 2000 decals. velocals do not have the full set.
However the frame would take the US postal service set.
Frame is in the UK. Any interest?
