Donating bikes
I have a Cannondale 3.0 that has been ridden. I put at least 10,000 miles on it. It has dura-ace components. I can't face the thought of getting back on this bike after riding less rigid bikes for a while, so it hangs in my basement with spiders living in the wheels. I don't really want to go to the trouble of selling it, so I am thinking of donating it. Are there any charities that are capable of dealing with a bike like this?

I donated a couple of desirable vintage bikes to a local bike charity, thinking they could make money selling them on line. They didn't want to be bothered, apparently. They were gathering dust, just in a different place. It's pretty easy to sell bikes locally on CL if you just want them to go to a new home. Set a price low enough to be attractive but not so low as to bring in the flippers. It feels good to know you've given someone more than their money's worth. Lagniappe.
