Yours is an exceptional example!
I live down the strand in Imperial Beach, my Father flew(Navy/P3) out of North Island for years. He met a fellow aviator living in Coronado Island who was original owner of a JDM 240Z. Like many of that generation, he had kept meticulous records to include copies of his loan application and business card of the Datsun dealership sales person in Japan. I now am the steward of said car and drive it regularly on weekends - occasionally through Coronado Island. Such a lovely place with a rich military history (first Navy pilot, Navy Seal training facility...).
Finely crafted vintage car or bicycle, their respective stories can be equally fascinating.

How are those forks fused? Must be more than duct tape.

Also, does it come with the Packers mask?

That huge intercooler though. Looks like someone has a turbo project going on.

Classic example of "lipstick on a pig." The Mirage was a very basic Motobecane; hi-ten frame with steel crank and wheels. Spend more than a grand fixing one up and try to recover a third of that for a frame that was on a $100 bike back in the '70s.

I hope they're sticking to well-paved mountains on this bike?
Only thing needed is
I'm wary of any ad which says something like this, followed by super minor things anyone could do. Wouldn't a seller with any sense take care of all the low-hanging fruit that would make the bike more appealing to buyers? I just assume this is the most obvious part of a whole heap of things the bike needs which the seller would rather not even get started on.

When I used to look at cars on craigslist, one thing I'd see all the time was "just needs a timing belt, a $10 part." Um, yeah. If the timing belt broke, the engine just ate itself for lunch. New belt's not gonna cut it.

This offering from a CL regular in the Tidewater area, it's a 653 frame but with a cheap chrome fork and especially telling is the missing axle washer and the fact that seller proclaims "Freewheel Setup No Brakes" and "Throw a front brake on it and RIDE!"

Dude, you can ride it right now, so you must mean "Throw a front brake on it and STOP!"

https://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/...400126598.html

This seller has lots of bikes constantly for sale but this one is a standout.

How do you get to "two seven" when you have a photo showing the clearly written "seven ten"?

https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/bi...399791026.html

Miyata Two Seven Road Bike Grand Touring? Bicycle 23" Frame 700C Wheels

I'll have to check, not sure if this is a 10 or 12 speed.

There's a ding in the seat tube, one of the pictures shows a close up of it.

Other than that, there are scratches/marks, nothing major.

The seat is torn on one side.

I lost my adapter so I couldn't blow up the tires to see if they hold air and give the bike a ride.

The frame is Cro Mo triple butted.

I measured the center of the crank to the top of the seat tube to be about 23 1/4" and the stand over height to be about 32 1/2", but I could be off by a 1/4" or so on either or both measurements.

The didn't mark the angle of the seat

Also, I doubt 24" is correct for those wheels, are the 700C?

Celo Europa I was just talking to someone today about, Colnago associated by a resourceful importer who had a deal with Ernesto. Saronni was a brand associated with Colnago and another mfg.

the bike is a mess. But there always is the hope of finding a mark, I mean buyer.

I wonder if the super-responsive handling prompted the sale?

Men’s bicycle
$60

Yes, it's a low-end bike, but for $60 someone with an allen key will be happy!
