Well, I tested positive for C19 the morning of 7/13. I had no symptoms whatsoever but had been notified of exposure. So I laid low on the cycling and got on Paxlovid just as a preventative.
I went out and did a few overnight neighborhood loops while everyone was asleep but did not feel like it was a responsible idea to stray far from home or go on the path where I could infect others.
I plan to go out Thursday and do a 20 miler, though. The month is wasting away and I may not hit 100.

"Riding as fast as you can" is horrible training advise, even for elite athletes. If you ride over 400 miles per week, and more than half of those miles are "as fast as you can" you have gotten weaker and slower, not stronger and faster. The human body needs time to recover in order to get stronger. The time it takes to ride 200 miles a week "as fast as you can" simply doesn't give your body time to recover. Your numbers are off somewhere. Substantially off.

I thought I would check in and say that most of you have been doing a great job of racking up the miles! I've been watching from the sidelines. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that healing takes MUCH longer when you are well past the sixty-year mark. 
I'm still sidelined from my crash back in June, so I have a grand total of ZERO miles for July - but hopefully I will be back on the bike in a day or two - I'm almost there. I'll pick back up with a monthly goal in August.

I thought I would check in and say that most of you have been doing a great job of racking up the miles! I've been watching from the sidelines. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that healing takes MUCH longer when you are well past the sixty-year mark.
I'm still sidelined from my crash back in June, so I have a grand total of ZERO miles for July - but hopefully I will be back on the bike in a day or two - I'm almost there. I'll pick back up with a monthly goal in August.
