Tall Rider

HI,

I was wondering who would be the tallest person here to use a folding bike and which one did they get?

We used to make a bike that accommodated riders up to 6'5", but we stopped a few years ago. I did have a customer who was 6'3" purchase the Origami Lotus. I didn't expect someone that tall to fit well, but he did.

This doesn't directly answer your question, but Bike Friday used to make an XL version of their 'collapsible' bike. Not sure how tall a person could be and still be comfortable for long rides.

I'm currently 6' 1", soon to be 6 2" or so again thanks to knee replacements . Just had left knee done 2 weeks ago and currently walking in circles LOL, right gets done in about 4 weeks and that should level me up again. I have a Dahon Boardwalk and a a Dahon Stowaway and I'm quite comfortabe on both. Just finished a complete overhaul and update on the Stoaway but no pics yet.

I have a Zizzo Forte and am 6'3" with a 36" inseam. Zizzo has an extra long seatpost available as an option and using that and a set of Magic Steppers makes it quite comfortable for me. I wouldn't want to go long distance touring on it but for rides of a few hours it works fine. I also added bar ends and a Brooks B67 saddle. Still fits in the bag.

Those Dahons' seats look very low for someone who is 6'1". My first folder was a Dahon Speed, here it is set up for 6'3" me with a 32" seat height:

The Borardwalk pic is from the seller's ad, the Stowaway pic is right after I unloaded it and rinsed 20 years of dust and cobwebs off it and the seller's were both shorter than me so they are too low in the pics. Plus my wife rides the Boardwalk on occasion, she's 5' 3" and just like in the car never puts the seat back in the right place LOL.
