Paramount PDG 7
I wondered what you think the value is. It has no original parts and so it really is just the frame pdg series 7. The bike rides and shifts really well but has all low end heavy parts. Amazing how well these low end Sora parts shift. I would like to slowly upgrade to better lighter parts. It weighs about 25 lbs and so is really quite heavy again mostly due to the parts I think.Thanks in advance.

Frame alone could be worth around $200 or so.

Same frame as all the other Series Paramounts, only difference was the components, thus too bad about the missing Ultegra. Still a beautiful bike with a great frame, if my size, I’d offer you 250, for just the frame, if mine wouldn’t let it go for less then that.

wrk101 Responding to your comment that you deleted, I’ve been around here a while, and know all about the different production facilities for the Asian Paramounts, I had a 5, and am building up another for my son in law.
I didn’t really want to get into all of that, but my point was, no matter where they were made, all the frames were built with tubes and lugs supplied by Schwinn, and they were all the same tubes and lugs. I’m betting if you took one of each of the Series frames, except the 9, and painted them all alike, you’d be hard pressed to tell the difference.
Putting it another way, if I took a Series 2 or 3 frame, gave it the ugly purple splatter paint job, added the 1055 Components and Campagnolo Omega 19 rims, it would look, and ride exactly the same as the 5.
Like you, I am also partial to the 5 and 7, due to the actual paint quality, and upgraded components.

My theoretical plan for this bike would be to make into a retro mod of some sort. Put a new or much newer ultegra groupset on it and new lighter wheels and then see how it feels. I live in a hilly area and I like my road bikes to be <23 lbs or even better <22.

If you want to put it on a diet and not spend much... crankset and tires. Maybe wheels. We spend a lot of time talking about weight of controls but most of them are just not big enough to weigh a lot. The exception is the crankset and bottom bracket, which are big solid chunks of aluminum and steel. Especially this one. It looks like it came off a department store bike from twenty years ago
