Creaking Noise

My wife's bike recently developed a creaking noise when going uphill under power. I tried a number of possible fixes:
Seat Rails
Seatpost
Checked all bolts, particularly chainring bolts
Checked for carbon frame cracks
The only things left were the rear wheel bearings and the quick release on both wheels. It was the quick release. I just wiped the cams and lightly greased.... Creaking gone!!!
