Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Don’t forget Blue Ball, Bird-in-Hand and Paradise. You can ride through the first two then Intercourse to get to Paradise, but not if you’re from Virginville in neighboring Berks County.

I've only been to Boring, Jackpot, Pie Town, and Woonsocket. I gotta get out more. And this is a terrible map. Catfish Paradise, AZ is not a town.
I rode through Foul Rift and S. Foul Rift, NJ again during last month’s tour. Nice area along the Delaware River. Still pretty agrarian.

Drivers in Lancaster county seem quite patient, likely because of all the Amish buggies they are tolerant of slower moving vehicles. Once in Berks County it feels like the drivers want to kill us.

I don’t think .4 miles has ever been 400 yards.

Almost time to ride.... but it's 39⁰ with a bit of wind, so do I don my winter gear (early season wimpiness) or do I fire up the trainer?

I lived about 15 miles from Woonsocket, back when I didn't have any control over where I lived.

We have the same dilemma here. 41° this AM and windy. We’re waiting until 10:00 to start but it’s still going to be sub-50 and the winds worse.

I know 2 guys who have put 350 LS1 engines into 240z Datsuns. They said the aluminum LS1 weighs about the same as the original iron 6 cylinder. The weak link becomes the differential. My one friend takes his to the track and besides eating tires he has broken the differential a few times. He has some beefy diff to put in there now.

I'm pretty sure a Chevy v-8 weighs more than the 4 cylinder pea-shooter that came in that MG, though.
