what is your recommendation for road bike pedals without cleat?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

what is ur recommedation for road bike pedals without cleat?
my bike is pinarello F10 ,CP SUPER RED 12S ,BORA ULTRA 50.
I often ride my bike for 30-130km,use my adidas shoes ride for 1-2 years.
so I decide use cleatless pedals.

I dont have a recommendation but a cautionary tale. I changed from frogs to platforms on my fixie and found the platforms caught the pavement in a fast corner, losing skin is never fun. Todays platforms are huge compared to cleats and significantly reduce your turn angles especially the style with the allen heads on the peripheral. I immediately put the frogs back on, no more platforms for me. Try to buy smaller platforms if possible and check your turn angles with your pedals close to the pavement. Have Fun

I’d suggest MKS GR10 in black. They’ll take a toe clip, too, if you want some security.

In your photo, those look like Look-style pedals, not platform types.
If you're going with toe-clip pedals, I recommend "Giro VR Rumble cycling" shoes.

I would suggest pinned pedals, like the one you suggested, but with less tall pins. They dig into the foot after a while. Like a XT flat pedal. A few wellgo pedals have shallow pins as well. I have some Wellgos. B-030s I believe. They are fine, but not as nice as XTs. With a flat shoe foot retention is perfectly fine and you won't slip, but of course some around here, as evidenced in the other thread, will claim it a death trap! ;-)

If I understand this correctly, you have been riding with trainers/sneakers on clipless pedals?

If that is true then a good low profile flat pedal will be a big improvement. I use Crank Brothers Stamp pedals, which come in various sizes. Their low profile helps to avoid pedal strikes. I haven’t had a problem with that but only use them on my mtb.

Gold would be hot, they’re probably lightweight, and those don’t look too big, either. If you don’t want toe clips, those are likely great!

Any half-decent toeclip pedals will be smaller than a typical set of flats, so no, not really.

Well, yeah…all else being equal, specifically if the pedals are equal weight.

Toe clips and straps don’t weigh much, but if weight is your concern, you’ll want to compare options carefully.

For example, you can get flat pedals, like Xpedo TRVS 5, which weigh 232g but don’t take a toe clip, or you could get a toe clip compatible flat like the MKS Cygma which weighs 240g and then add probably 30g - 60g/pedal in clips and straps.

So yes, toe clips add weight of course, but pedals have diverse weights, so you just have to look at each model and see. The MKS GR10 I posted earlier are not lightweights at 340g.

The other things you need to do is consider whether foot retention is worth having and consider how important weight is. If you’ve been riding around on clipless pedals without being clipped in, I’m pretty sure any flat pedal, with or without toe clips, will be a big improvement in comfort, stability, security and performance irrespective of weight.
