I hate those SOBs like the plague, and although I've never had the plague, how much worse than Lyme can it be? (jk of course).
You may want to consider getting a prophylactic shot of antibiotic just in case it bit you somewhere. It is WELL worth the minor inconvenience imo.

I was passed by a Saturn SUV this afternoon. I finished the ride, and the tour at 87°A. Finally some warm weather.

Pic for @Rowan. Some brand new wooden sleepers (we call them ties in America), awaiting an MOW crew.
The steel is moulded into a shape that isn't solid like timber of concrete ones, so they are relatively light weight, but very strong. I don't live near a rail line anymore, but will get pics of them use one day and post for you. Here is a link to a place that specialises in selling them:

Work can sometimes get like that if I can remember that. Hope the weather is great for a good ride and overnight.

We're slowly entering that period of climate difference. I keep forgetting that in Tasmania, winter comes on slowly, and it's not until around July and August that the rain and coldness really takes a hold. Odd how many trips to the Northern Hemisphere and other northern sections of Australia I have done in August-September period. When I lived in Far North Queensland, the winter period was relief from really hot, demoralising weather.

Thanks, it's a shot I really like for the action characteristics which usually means the lighting won't be perfect. So yes, I wish there was more detail in his wings and his head wasn't blown out white, but overall it's engaging.

I rode before work. It was a little chilly, but the sun was out.

Just back from a short but fun club ride in beautiful Chester County, PA. It was sunny and summer-like. We saw one rare bird, a solo cyclist in touring gear, red panniers, going the opposite way.
I will await confirmation but I believe the species was our very own @indyfabz.

I have a one-speed commuter/utility/rain bike. It has a flip-flop hub, one side freewheel and one side is fixed. I have always used the freewheel. I know I should try fixed but I am to ascared.

I had a dream last night wherein I was gleeful after lifting up an absurdly light SS/FG.
Shopping for a SS/FG now.

Well, dress me up and call me Suzie; GP4Ks really are faster than 4Ss! They're only the third set of tires I've had on the road bike after starting to ride it again in 2014.
Also, one has to pick one's line more carefully with 23 mm tires than 25s. Imagine that! The feel is a little like $18 tubulars, back in the day, but not quite as good.
I wonder what it's like to ride a bike that weighs less than 22 lbs.
