Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fun fact: The hematologist who discovered Erythropoeitin was from Jefferson and named Dr Erselev.

He lectured us in Medical School on red cell formation etc., which was pretty cool. He was fairly old then (1990's) and I believe he passed away a few years back.

Me, either. Sluggish is a good word for them in my opinion.

EPO also promotes blood vessel formation and is probably good for recovery after TBI, stroke, and the like.

I'm over it now, though I'm not going to put myself in that position again, but the kicker of it was that I was only OTB because I stopped for their friend, a guy I didn't know two hours earlier, and they didn't.

I started on 19s.

I misspoke earlier. We're actually in Blanding, not Bluff.

Yes, but you wouldn't have seen them, since they're reserved for the elite of the elite, i.e., serious cyclists.

On the way home this evening, I saw a guy riding his bike on one of the crushed limestone gravel paths and noticed that he had a folded up tire in one hand... then I saw that his front wheel was bare and that he was riding on his shiny silver rim. Didn't really strike me as a bright idea.

He'ed probably gotten more punctures than patches or repair kit that he had. I guess it beats walking home. Even if you have to replace the rim afterwards.

Have to rip an unsuspecting person a new one at work today. Not looking forward to it.
