Blaming the Bike

Fernando Gaviria bounced his front wheel as he crossed the line (spoiler deleted) on stage 5 of the Giro d’Italia and he continued to take his frustration out on his bike once stopped beyond the line, bashing his saddle with his fist.

"Che bici di merda", meaning "what a **** bike", the Colombian said as he was caught on camera.
Apparently he couldn't shift into the 11t.
How considerate that he insulted his bicycle in Italian rather than Spanish... because GIRO!

ETA: UAE, Colnago, Campy

He's a passionate guy, I bet the Italians love him! I don't blame him this time, he almost had it! Not bad for spinning away in the 12t or whatever.

That may not be the bike's fault (looking at the UAE mechanics here).

Reminds me of a post-race interview, Steve Bauer (2nd in the race) said he gave it everything he had in his 53x13. When the winner, Sean Kelly (on his flexy Vitus), was asked what gear he was in he said 53x15. Legspeed counts.
