Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You can aim for that, as a mission, as an ideal, but know damn well you won't succeed, and so not feel bad about yourself ATEOTD.

I actually have lawns to mow. I did do an hour of paperwork and an hour of weeding. Now it's time to shower and have lunch with Mrs and child. I also have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep. Prolly...and baseball to watch!

Fried chicken is gross. Bones make it grosser.

Yum. I should take a kitten out to the desert for a little rabbit hunting.
But....but....the crispy skin is at least half of the whole point of chicken wings! This is why the wingette (forearm) is the best part, and the drumette is not as good!

That depends entirely on the method. Deep fried or pressure fried can be gross. Properly pan fried it's fit for a king.

VV, like the blind pig, has stumbled across an acorn. Apart from the whole 'keeping you alive' aspect, if one doesn't enjoy what one eats, what's the damn point?

I didn't realize it was Saturday. I went out to do weekday stuff and it was closed. So I did a very short ride on the town bike.

I’ll never forget when my sister first went on hospice and was in a care facility, the hospice nurse asked her what she could do to make her more comfortable, happier in her last days, etc. and she wanted two things: the first was tomato soup and the second was access to the smoking area more than once a day. The hospice nurse asked the facility nurse why she couldn’t have tomato soup and the nurse said it was because she was on a low sodium diet. As for smoking, it was a rule that clients only had smoking access once a day no matter who they were. My sister was in her last couple months of life and in fact, lived about a month after going on hospice.

The hospice nurse got her orders changed to 24 hour access to tomato soup and/or tomato juice and was given the door code to the smoking area.

I agree with DougRNS that pour over coffee is preferred, over french press. There was a day, not so long ago, that I eschewed filtered coffee. And arábica coffee as well. At the moment I'm drinking both.

A scant cup of pasta with pesto, half a pint carton of Haagen Dasz, a banana, and whatever I can find in the fridge next.
