Transporting bike to europe
Hi just wondered what others had done with regards to transporting bikes abroad. Can't put it on the plane and courier services have cried off due to the battery. Heading down to the alps from the UK in august so any suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks Jackie

If you already have the bike **********? If not ebikesca had 36V batteries less than 100 a-h that can be transported by passenger plane, then connected at the destination.

Already have bike it's a Giant E+1 road and really struggling to find a way to transport it. Nobody wants to know when they know about the Lithium Ion Battery.

Can you potentially rent a battery from a shop at your destination?
The advantage of a Giant is that they have dealers all over and it should be interchangable.
Alternatively, you can ship the battery in advance to your destination. It shouldn't be that expensive, since it's only a few pounds.

As long as you transport the bike with the battery in place there is no hassle. Ship just the battery and the alarm bells go off.
Your bigger problem is having a compatible charger for the electric service where you are going. DONT think that a easily bought converter will handle the amps of your charger.
Have a good time.

Yeah, you can't fly with your battery.
the ebike.ca mini batteries can be shipped and hooked together in parallel (or series) to give you the power you want.
Most all chargers I have ever looked at work fine with US or European voltage. Stereos, hair driers, electric fans - maybe not.
Your best bet is to rent something there. That is becoming a popular thing to do in Europe.

Trains will be slower; but is that another possible way?
