Ah...for a family of 3, we have 13 bikes. Is that excessive?
The Douze cargo bike is the daily driver for the parent who's taking the kid to/from daycare; the other parent rides a Priority Continuum, which has a medium-sized frame and easily-adjustable seatpost, in case we need to switch bikes mid-day (I'm tall-ish, she's short-ish). The kid has her own Woom 1 balance bike, though she'd rather ride in the cargo bike. Then my wife and I each have our own city bike (vintage frame built up w/ modern components), our own touring bike (ditto), and our own vintage Raleigh 3-speed. There's a Dahon Piccolo folding bike (occasionally useful) and an old Columbia tandem (only used when my 12-year-old niece comes over). A 1951 Raleigh Clubman that doesn't get ridden much since the kid came along (more's the pity). And a 2007 Raleigh road bike that I don't ride much either (meh).

I just moved and I'm unpacking so,
Two bikes up and running,
Three in the Chaos Lab still in shipping boxes
Four bare frames if we're counting them as "bikes" and not "parts"
Then my wife has one here in NYC, one in Chicago for work, and one at her folks house. Shoot, I have one at her folks place too, so add another for me...
I don't feel bad about my bikes at all. I used to have about 16 bikes and this was a big downsize for me! None of my whips are newer than '91 and they're all sweet rides that fit really well. It's a collection, but it's a well curated collection.

The only one of my seven bikes that really permits me to go car-free is the M80, which has both a summer and winter outfit.

- 1960's French raod frame - Unidentified yet, pending identification, restoration en likely to be converted as a fixed gear / singlespeed
- 1993 Trek 520 Touring - True Temper double butted cromo -Recently bought, to be used as an all-rounder/commuter
- 1994 Ferraroli Elegante - Tange Prestige Superlight -road bike, restoration being finished
- 1995 Sunn 500 MTB (Tange cromo) - Commuter - neo-retro build 1x11s
- 1996 Decathlon Rockrider 700 - Dedaccia Zero cromo - Single speeder MTB
- 1997 (?) Bianchi MTB - Probably Dedaccia Zero Tre - pending clear identification
- 2021 Chiru Vagus - Titanium gravel bike - the bike I use most!
By the way, frenchie here. That explains the Decathlon and Sunn bikes

About a dozen or so built and another half dozen frames and forks. I use about 4 bikes regularly; a Lemond Fillmore single speed, Lemond Wayzata, Lemond Poprad, and a Tommaso.

I own two so far. My 2016 Raleigh Edale Hybrid - from Halfords, a UK big box store as you'd call it in the US. A generic frame, built to a budget with basic components but did me until 2022. It's still around for the memories! And a 2022 (probably 2021 to be honest) Giant Escape 4 from a local bike shop. About twice the cost. Nice aluminium (alloy?) frame, but basic components. I'd say the entry level into decent quality brands / bicycling and about where I'm at with my experience / interest in cycling for now. I can't post pics until I've been a member with more posts

I have over 50 but many are just frames now after robbing parts off them. I have bikes mainly from the mid 80's to late 90's and I keep telling myself I'll sell 2 for every 1 I bring in but it never seems to happen but this is the year since we have a couple swaps coming up over next couple months.
