Metal fender fork daruma or L bracket question
I've installed two sets of VO fenders where I used the supplied fork daruma and bent or dimpled the fender accordingly to match the arc for good fender lines.
I'm now considering a set of Honjo's (or maybe Berthoud), and may use their nice L brackets on both fenders. I think I've read that Honjo doesn't include a daruma with their standard kit. My silly question is will I still have to dimple the front fender, or is proper arc and fender line achieved simply by bending the front L bracket and never bending or dimpling the fender?

...not sure what you are asking, but I can tell you that by using an L bracket attachment instead of a daruma setup on the front fender, it drops the whole fender closer down toward the wheel. If you have wide tires or any close clearance issues with your front fender, it will be exacerbated by the switch.

Using the L bracket, you could still dimple the fender. This helps keep the fender away from the tire.

I get your question, but the vagaries of fork crown design, wheel/tire combo and brakes make it impossible to answer. Most of us have installed the cheapo plastic SKS type at one time or another and those don't have any sort of flat spot or crease for the front fork to register on, but they also tend to take up a lot of clearance (as noted above).
I can't see any reason you couldn't test fit without the flattened spot and see how it fits and looks, there's nothing lost by trying it.

I recently installed VO's and used the L bracket (brazed on centerpulls), i dimpled the fender and bent the bracket for it to line up perfectly, worked great.
