De Rosa for sale locally

This is for sale somewhat local to me. Asking the usual De Rosa premium which I do not expect it to bring, particularly given the absence of any clean up. The frame and components are speckled with what could be dust but I suspect mildew. Anyway, I will let it age on CL and figure I might make an offer at some point. What kind of value would you all put on this for someone interested in fixing up for a keeper but in no hurry to overpay to get it?

Ugly saddle, unattractive pics, mildew (or worse), and a tall bike. Yeah that bike is unlikely sell at $1100.

The frame looks like it may not be strait true but if all is good I would say $600 give or take for a local CL sale. The ugly saddle, junk pedals and sloppy setup really hinder the bike from getting the top dollar premium price the seller is asking for.

That’s almost a project, definitely needs a good overhaul and mold abatement.

That bike has been for sale for at least three years. The first year or so the seller was asking $2000. Then he dropped it to $1100 and hasn’t budged since.

Excellent condition. Yeah, surrrre.

$600 is where my head was at. Maybe higher given the DA components but only if the mold was easily abated.

Since he is selling these, maybe he should crack open a pack and do a quick wipe down.

WIPES
Best, Ben

I would forget that it is for sale. There is too much ugliness that I would not want to deal with, ever.

With the price that ridiculously high, I don't really consider it "for sale". BBC, Kalamazoo chapter....

Without fail, the quick releases for the brakes on bikes like these is always open.

Also another shot to highlight the excellent condition.

That bike is disgusting, unfortunately. The seller doesn't know what they have, otherwise they'd actually speak with some enthusiasm about it. It's just a reseller who got the bike in an estate sale or a storage unit buyout and thinks that because it says DeRosa it's worth over $1000.
