How about TA 3 pin cranks? Image from google. However, I do have a set in 170 is anyone is interested though they would need a good polish and probably cleaning up some nicks and scratches.

Single ring talk~

Frequent rider and pics from this morning with the beater Bottecchia. Not much for matching era but it works well. Frenchy Stronglight 45D Competition steel cottered arms and single TA ally 52t ring. The BB spindle was swapped and now have the big ring tucked in close as a whisker hair allows. Went from a five speed to a tall geared six speed close ratio. I used to get the occasional and annoying chain drop, due too fast of shifting. But now with a guide can bang those gears super fast with 100% reliability... this with a lowly Velox steel derailleur. Love the simplicity of it. Shifts faster than my bike with its modern Ergo contraption. hehe

^^^ @nlerner a minor point but the first and fourth of those pictured above have the chainrings incorrectly "clocked" on the arms.

Nothing fancy in my corner, just solid mid-level cranks doing their thing.

Sugino GLP on the fixed-gear mountain bike. I get pretty good chainline with a 103mm bottom bracket. 45T SR chainring in the summer, 42T Sugino ring (originally the inner ring) in the winter:

Sugino GT on my rando bike. The stock 52T and 42T have gone on to other homes, and these 48T and 34T that I bought at a swap meet for $10 or $20 make better use of the 110 BCD anyway:

@Metacortex, with some chainrings, I will deliberately rotate them from time to time to even out the wear. It's a shame that you can't do that with some of the newer systems.

Rollback 1930's to some engineers mind. Too cool. And how nicely it works with the fork. Thanks for sharing

very nice, but there seems to be some disagreement on which way the crank should curve (insert your own joke here).

One the local Wheelmen had some of his bikes on display in city's museum. Pretty cool stuff in general.. but the tandem had cranks that curved the opposite direction. The explanation was that the curve would straighten slightly when applying power to the crank, effectively lengthening the crank and allowing more power to be delivered. Seems as plausible as most oval chainrings.

Before I bought this Stronglight/Spidel 107 crankset. I never really liked them that much as I preferred the more classic looking, fluted model 106. But after adding in the black anodized big chainring and installing it on my 84 Gitane TdF, I've grown to really like it!

I'm very happy with the Sugino AT triple on my '73 Super Course. I also think the old school Campy on my '64 Legnano is one of the prettiest and most iconic cranks out there. The older I get, more gears is better, never quite got the single ring idea, but that's just me.

This is what I call my K-Mart triple, a rig I cobbled up for my garbage build Cimarron and made from a Fuji-branded Sugino Maxy II double with a 22T SunTour Perfect freewheel cog bolted to the spider. This with a 34T big cog gives me an 18" low gear.
